Alanis Morissette Joins NHL Face-Off Rocks 2008 Musical Line-Up
Grammy Winner Will Perform via Satellite in High-Definition

NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 09/26/08 -- Seven-time Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Alanis Morissette will give a special performance via satellite from Montreal as part of NHL Face-Off Rocks(TM), the NHL's opening day viewing party and concert spectacular at Fox Theatre in Detroit on Thursday, Oct. 9. Morissette is currently on tour in support of her critically acclaimed new album, "Flavors of Entanglement," and single, "Not As We," and will join in the festivities from Place des Arts in Montreal. CBC and VERSUS will broadcast Morissette's performance in high-definition as part of their national NHL coverage throughout Canada and the U.S., respectively, on Oct. 9. NHL.com and CBCSports.ca will provide streaming coverage of NHL Face-Off Rocks 2008.
NHL Face-Off Rocks 2008 will commence with the VERSUS and CBC broadcasts of the sold-out Detroit Red Wings home opener against the Toronto Maple Leafs at Joe Louis Arena, including the raising of the Red Wings' 2008 Stanley Cup(TM) Championship banner, followed by live performances from Morissette in Montreal and rock band, Def Leppard, from Fox Theatre in downtown Detroit.
Tickets to NHL Face-Off Rocks 2008 at Fox Theatre on Thursday, Oct. 9 are available for purchase for $35 and $45 on-line at Ticketmaster.com and OlympiaEntertainment.com, at all Ticketmaster locations and at the Fox Theatre box office. Fans at Fox Theatre will enjoy the Red Wings game broadcast, including the championship banner-raising ceremony, an in-person performance from Def Leppard and Morissette's performance via satellite. A deejay will entertain the audience throughout the event.
